The Heart of Lonesome Sky

Author:
heartsdesire456
Rating: NC-17
POV: 3rd
Pairing: Spencer Smith/Brendon Urie (very minor/hinted background others)
Summary: When Brendon Urie arrives at Rusty Creek, a ranch town so small the saloon doesn't even have a name, all he knows is that the man he was sent to marry was named Spencer Smith. At first glance, Brendon can't understand why a man as handsome and well established as Spencer Smith would need a mail-order groom when he should have been able to get any eligible man or woman in Rusty Creek. Through awkwardness, acceptance, and eventually belonging, Brendon has a chance to eventually learn the heart of the man who brought him to Lonesome Sky ranch.
Disclaimer: "-Fic.tion: [noun] something feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story"
WARNING: While belief is suspeded for same sex relationships being acceptable, period racism is present, including the use of period language that in no longer considered acceptable and/or are considered present-day racial slurs.
Author's Note: I have wanted to write a western for SO long, you guys. I never had an idea but I WANTED to write one. When I started this story, I pretty much just haven't stopped. It's the first fic in a long time that just took me and ran with me like I used to have happen quite often. This story has elements I didn't LOVE, such as the fact there isn't at least one more romantic scene, but as far as I'm concerned, I am MONUMENTALLY happy with this one. SUCH a good feeling to finally be sharing it with you guys!
